A New Soul

I used to like falling sick. Then i can have the excuse of going down to the doc's to get a MC. But things changed. Circumstances are different now. After everything that has happened, i HATE falling ill. Besides, i simply cannot afford to do so now.

During the last week of hols, the last few days to chill and play, i had to fall sick. I woke up one day, for no particular reason i had a fever. And my whole body felt so weak. Not even an ounce of energy's in my body. Really felt like some corpse. Juz that my heart and organs are still functioning. Felt EXTREMELY dehydrated too. Drank lots of water but was of no use. It only sent me to the toilet countless of times. Whole body ached too. I thought, "oh god. Dont tell me i'm having freaking dengue". Went to the doc. Had blood test plus lotsa medicine. Platelet count was fine so dengue's out. So wad was wrong?

Took the doc's advice to rest lots. Drank some re-hydrating minerals she prescribed. Which resulted me in puking all my food out. That was when the whole vomitting spell started. Everything that i ate or drank came back right up. Top that with my ground-zero appetite, my physical being lost 4kg of precious weight. The dehydrating problem got worse. 3 cups plus one tubberware of water will accommpany me everynight. But darn throat still felt like sandpaper.

Went back to the doc. She told mom to get me 100 plus. EEeeeek puke. I hate isotonic drinks! It didnt do me any good either. Spent most of my hours sleeping like Count Dracula. Literally straight and flat. And when i'm awake, i'll be walking around the house like Frankein Stein. Missed the first 2 days of school. Wad a way to start a new semester.

Slowly, the vomitting spell subsided. Felt 1 watt of energy ran through my veins. Thought, "hey! i'm better now!" so made my way to school on wednesday, 26th May. And i almost lost my dear life. My legs were so weak that after standing for a few minutes, i felt like collapsing. I had to rush for a seat on the MRT or i wouldnt have even made it to Dover. Plus, my reduced- to- pencil arms had to carry the ever heavy laptop. BooHoo~~~~ Didnt know how i managed to make it back home alive.

The next two days were as bad. Not only i had to cope with my sickly self, i felt that i was lagging behind everyone in school. Missed two sessions of practical plus endless lectures. Miss Ong even wanted me to make up for Instrumentation prac! Ahhhhh!!! Things just get worse. When i thought i was getting better, my already dry and raspy throat started to hurt. It felt like that was something poking at the left of my throat. The pain just became from bad to worse. And from worse to the worst! It was soooooooooooooooooo painful that every morsel of food i swallowed or every sip of water i drank, i had to clench my fist and prevent myself from flinking wad's remaining of Ho Shu Swen outta the window.

Thank god for Labour Day. It gave me more time to rest. In the meantime, my fever continued to increase and decrease like some rollercoaster ride. Finally, i dragged myself outta bed to the doc for the 3rd time, on Labour Day. Doc Ho. My pediatrician. He said i had SEPTIC tonsillitis. Really bad. Mom said the ulcer looked like a snow-cap on a red mountain. I had an injection on my ass plus a bunch of medication. Thank god doc prescribed me painkillers which helped to numb the pain so i can eat better.

So now, yours truly is on the road to recovery. Though stuffy nose and blocked ears are still a pain in the ass. Phew~ Wonder when will i fully recover.

Next came the job searching. At first, we thought we could nail the data entry. God knows that it turned out to be a freaking job agency. And the worst of all, we were being served by kiddo's retarded senior who purposely made us fill in those long forms before telling us that there were no temp jobs available. MAN....and i rushed down allllllllllllllll the way from school that day. Imagine travelling from clementi to tampines, on an empty stomach with no water. I was famished and dehydrated. The three of us were standing by the road, when kiddo suddenly said "we are jobless man...". hahaha it felt like as though we have juz been retrenched! Wad a day.

Finally, the amb retreat camp. Hai...was already so tired even before the camp started. Had to prepare this and that, slept so late the night before the camp. Was literally zombified. Had to dye the rice. BLUE, RED, GREEN and YELLOW---> FOUR colours when i only have TWO containers. Then had to cut the silver leaves, etc...Hai...The most frustrating fact was that so little people attended the camp. So much leftover food. Such low level of enthusiasm. Shall not comment much.

Now, everything has ended. Am suppose to go to school today for the election of amb president and for the principal lunch. But am down with a freaking fever. Body's aching like mad and my head weighs a ton. If i pushed myself by going to school, think i would have fainted on the way there. LOL and i would have made newspaper headlines! HAHAHA! Thank god i have a week's break before work. Phew~~ can rest first. And catch that movie marathon, shopping spree, etc, that i have always wanted. Most of all, to catch up with my beloved friends like vanny darling! Yeap~~~~ Relaxation here i come!! LOL~~
